I want some unforgettable photos of my fabulous kids! When should I book my session?
In order to ensure every client gets the service they deserve from start to finish, session availability is limited. Booking 4-6 weeks before your preferred session date is recommended. Newborn sessions need to be scheduled within ten days of your baby’s birth, so booking by the 36th week of pregnancy is ideal.
We’re all set! What happens next?
Once your session is booked, you’ll schedule your pre-session consultation. This is our opportunity to get to know each other! I want you to tell me all about you, your family, and your kids. What are you all about? What do you most want to remember about this time in your lives? We’ll discuss your vision for the session, as well as what to bring and what to wear, select a location (or two!) and settle on a time for the session to take place.
Should I coach my kid to say cheese?
It’s not beneath me to beg, and this is where I’ll do it. Hold the cheese, please! While I always love to see a smile, I strive to capture so much more than just the perfect expression in my portraits. I know that the demure little thing with hands folded in his or her lap isn’t the kid you live with, and it isn’t the kid you’ll recognize from this stage of their life years from now. I celebrate shyness or sass, sweetness or swaggering, or whatever else your little one is made of, in every image.
We’re here! Now what?
It’s like Christmas morning. Or maybe you had to drag everyone there by the hair. But you made it to the session! Now try to relax. We won’t rush into anything – I want to take some time to introduce myself to your kids, and better yet, to let them show me some of themselves before I put the camera between us. We’ll spend anywhere from 1-2 hours together, depending on how we’re all feeling . Every session is different, but you can expect to see me interacting with your child (ignore the animal noises, if you can) as well as blending into the background at times. The key is to let kids be kids; that’s when the magic happens.
The suspense is killing me! When can I see my images??
You ordering appointment will be scheduled to take place within two weeks of your session date. You’re invited to bring as many guests as you’d like! You’ll have the chance to sit down and spread out all 20-30 5×7 session proofs and choose those that speak straight to your heart. You’ll be able to see samples of everything we offer, from all-encompassing albums to eye-catching canvas, and select the prints and products that suit your style, and your home. We’ll help as much or as little as you like. Session proofs will be available in color and/or black and white at the photographer’s discretion. All orders are required to be placed at this appointment; reorders are subject to additional reordering fees.
Are my images subject to copyright? What does that mean?
This is the dry stuff. Yes, all images created or produced by Jenn Swartz/East End Portrait Photography are copyrighted. You have the right to display all prints and products purchased, but scanning, copying, or otherwise reproducing is illegal as a violation of copyright law. Digital, or on-screen images, are also subject to copyright, and may not be copied via right-clicking or other methods for online use. If you wish to obtain digital files, they are available for purchase with any portrait collection.
